Harness Disruption and the Velocity of Digital Change

Australia’s productivity growth and competitiveness has been slipping, whilst Digital, Social, Mobile and Analytics technologies catalyse massive threats and disruption.

  • 70% (700) of the Fortune 1000 are new businesses less than 10 years old, many are Digital Natives
  • By 2017, 1 in every 5 industry leading companies will have lost to a company founded after 2000
  • By 2018, all business sectors will have been heavily reshaped by Digital Disruption
  • Vertical Industries will shift to Horizontal capabilities, some no longer existing in the same paradigm
  • Global competition and prices create border-less consumers and unexpected change
  • By 2020, 30 Billion devices will connect on the Internet of Things, from 0.9 Billion devices today
  • Digital flows of goods, services, and finance reached $26 trillion in 2012, 36% of global GDP

Act and Evolve Before it is Too Late

In this Application centric world, the focus on Digitisation, Disruption and Innovation is every leader’s responsibility. But while most now understand the opportunity, the process of integrating their platforms, people, departments and culture to disrupt or even cannibalise traditional operating models is too hard. The digital economy and real-time connectivity offers customer experience transformation and dramatic operational efficiency gains. It also threatens disruption and extinction – ask Nokia, Kodak, GM, Blackberry, Taxis and Borders.

Today’s survivors and tomorrow’s winners understand the opportunities and the risks that digital creates, where early adopters may not be caught – and many latecomers will potentially perish. The challenge for all stakeholders is how to innovate and embrace change? And often in the face of traditionally risk averse Australian boards.

Cultural change will be a key barrier: CMOs, CDOs and CIOs must lead and enable; the entire C-suite must collaborate and talk the same language before it is too late.

The Australian Digital Strategy Summit

June 8th-9th 2016, Sydney Sheraton-on-the-Park

Digital is not a technology or marketing issue and therefore cannot be thought of in isolation. Global flows are allowing unprecedented connections into the world economy. The Summit will bring together over 200 of the stakeholders in charge of the Digital Strategy for Australia’s large Organisations, Government departments and agencies. This will not be another marketing event. It will encompass the wider C-level strategic needs of CMOs, Chief Digital Officers with relevant content for CIO, CFO and Digital Stakeholders up to CEO level.

Content coverage will be Digital Operational Excellence and Digital Customer Experience. Much of the agenda will be about cultural and change management, leadership and case study successes.

Group sessions will encompass Disruption, Leadership, Change Management, Internet of Things, Analytics, Big Data, Single view of the Customer/Product, Payment Innovation, Digital Customer, and Smart Cities.

Contact Jim.Berry@SE-Corp.com.au with any speaker, alliance, delegate or partnership requests.
